12、inwhatisnowcalledtheNationalAcademy.Onepainting,PrisonersfromtheFront,waschosentorepresenttheUnitedStatesattheExpositionUniverselle.ThiseventwasheldinParis,Franceineighteensixty-six.HomerwenttoEuropeforthefirsttime.However,littleisknownabouthisstayinEurope.VOICETWO:ThenextmajorchangeinWinslowHomersl
13、ifewasadecisiontoworkinanewmedium.Untilnow,Homerhadusedoil-basedpaints.Colorfulsubstancesaremixedwithoil.Thesethickpaintscanbespreadinlayers,oneoveranother,toproduceinterestingeffectsoflightandcolor.Oilpaintsareusuallyputoncanvascloth.Mostpeopleconsideroilpaintingseriouspainting.Butinthesummerofeigh
