Planning: instead of producing the work directly the maker produces a plan for it. Abstracting: instead of working from general intent to particulars, the maker abstracts new ideas from the particulars in progress. Undoing: instead of getting everything perfect, the maker undoes and redoes parts of the work. Making means into ends: instead of being preoccupied with the final product, the maker addresses a means as an end in itself.
